Each system pretty much sets their own specs for peak to valley. Mostly from what I've done has been N/5+2 on 750 forward & n/10+2 on reverse.
If you are going to tweak the board look in the book for the picture or spec list for what pot affects what part of the frequency - copy it and lainate it and tape it inside your meter. I've gone behind guys who tweaked these things so bad I had to throw it out and find another oneand start over
