Would you consider that true heart felt repentence and a true belief that Christ died for his sins, or just "fire insurance"? To come to the saving knowledge of Christ's unconditional love for you, repent of your sins, and accept Jesus into your heart as your Lord and Savior brings about salvation. Do you feel that would be the case with Bin Laden in the scenario you described? I have heard interviews with convicted serial killer, Ted Bundy, and according to his testimony, he has come to know Jesus Christ as his personal savior. If that is the case, then yes, according to scripture, his sins are forgiven him. Only God knows for sure.
