Need help getting SDA5000 to read BER

Hopefully one of you fine gentlemen can point me in the right direction on this one!

We recently converted our system to a SMATV system.   I am having trouble getting my SDA5000 to get FEC lock and give me BER readings.
I checked out the QAM modulators in our headend, and noticed that the Symboling Rate was different than standard when you change the signal type on the meter to QAM.    I have confirmed that the mods are set on the digital center frequency that is standard.

At first I was not able to even get a MER reading, but I adjusted the symboling rate in my meter to match the symboling rate on the mods, and I can now get an MER reading.   I have adjusted the QAM level (ie 64,128,256) to match the mods.   I have also tried every combination of the different Annex's and still yield no BER reading or FEC lock.

The only other two settings that can possibly be changed in the channel plan configuration are inverted spectrum, and the noise offset frequency.

Do any of you have any idea as to what setting that I need to change so I can get the meter to lock and produce BER measurements?

I looked thru the documentation for the modulators, and it gives me no information as far as the spectrum and the noise offset is concerned.  Also, on the mods themselves I can't find any other information as far as the spectrum and noise offset values are concerned.

I would greatly appreciate if any of you have an idea as to what I might be over-looking.

Thanks in advance,

Jeff
