It is true that steel toe can be an electrical hazard and required for certain jobs. The rating on the boots will let you know if it is a electrical hazard compliant. In the past few years they have started making Kevlar toe boats. There is a lot of good talk about them like the electrical rating, same protection as steel, comfortable, and supposedly will return to original shape. Just food for thought check it out.
