Your right, fiber will be around for awhile (coax will be faded out) and a totally wireless system is just a dream right now. But using the exsisting system we can put hot spots anywhere in that system (without a tower) to supply phone, internet, and video. As far as programmers taking over, they lack the infer structure to do that. Also could you explain "fiber to the tower" to me. Because soon towers won't be needed either.   As far as trouble shooting an IP system, I can be sitting on a beach in the Bahamas and still be able to monitor and adjust levels on any system I'm authorized access too.
