I was taught hitchhiking was for pussies and old men. Well,,,now that I'm approaching old man status.(to some people) I've been noticing that I tend to hitchhike down more than I have in the past. Still free climb going up. I was shut down for three days one time on a Govt job for not hitchhiking, they said that I wasn't keeping three points of contact. Same job got shut down for a week, cause I was working aloft in a t-40 with it being mobile. Never seen so many safety people crap their pants on that one. Both incidents, after investigation by safety officials found that I was not acting negligent. But, questioned strongly about the none use of a safety while climbing. We ended up having to hitchhike the rest of the job. The t-40 incident is a story for another time.
