cert nazi knows what time it is :) ,, one method i use is, take my HP spectrum out to last amp and plug into main rev out test port (work the node backwards so to speak) , it keeps from pulling rev pads and interupting service, the problem you suffer is there is no fiber node for islation and the main fact that its intermittent.
oh ya your rev pic kinda rolls downhill to the right, i had a similar problem like that and it was a main line 2 way splitter full of water, but it wasnt intermitent, changed faceplate and problem solved,, good luck
