I agree. You definitely have to know the details of why the employee was let go. I am certain there is more to the story than they just got fired b/c they were injured. Everyone isn't going to tell everything especially when they are looking for supporters for their woe is me song. I have seen a lot of guys try to "milk" the system so I guess you can say they are out for their own just like companies are...
