I lived in Middletown PA in 1979 when Three Mile Island happened and no one went into the danger zone until after they sent in robots and did other things to make it safe. Yeah it was not as bad as Japan or Chernoble but the only way anyone would have gotten any lethal radiation would have been if the  hydrogen gas exploded. The guys in Japan are dealing with one that already has and one that might go at any second..Talk about a rock and a hard place.
If everyone is thinking alike, someone isn't thinking.
