The only "bashing" (previously referred to as "persecution") going on here is from the closed minded kool-aid drinkers that refuse to accept any other thought process than their own without "proof". Which, ironically enough, goes completely against the meaning of 'faith'. If they can't read it in the bible, then it just simply can't be.
