This is an UNOFFICIAL notification that Western Washington University is seeking bids for the construction of PW 328, CATV Headend and HFC distribution system. The OFFICIAL advertisement will be printed in the Bellingham Herald and the Seattle Daily Journal of Commerce starting tomorrow, Feb. 15, 2001. The scope of work involves some fiber optic cabling, complete construction of a Headend (racks, mods/demods, video switch, LO insertion, etc.), installation of satellite dishes, installation of fiber nodes in +/- 40 buildings, some fiber splicing and patching, tuning, testing and a new electrical panel with branch circuits in the Headend room. Estimated construction cost is $950,000 - $1,050,000.

There will be a pre-bid conference at WWU on Feb 28. This conference is MANDATORY for prime bidders. It is highly encouraged, although not required for major sub-contractors.
Bid opening will be on March 20th at WWU.
Plans and specifications are currently available for purchase from Applied Digital Imaging (360) 671-9465. Plans and specifications can also be viewed at WWU Facilities Management or at plan centers around WA and northern OR.
