1. Get everything in writing with detailed scopes of work with a personal payment guarantee clause signed by owners. (just like when your business applies for a credit card the banks require a personal signature guarantee from an owner)
2. When asked to submit background information, make sure you send along a form so you can run your own background check on the owners.
