Re: You know your "Old School" when:

I know I am old school when I think back over the last 48 years in the cable business.I started as a grunt in Austin,Texas and was scared to death of heights.Looked over Charlie Fishers shoulder and saw what he made for the week before and I knew I must learn to climb.Put the first ever drop in Austin.I know I am old school when I realize I have outlived most of my friends in the industry.I have built whole systems with out a bucket truck being involved.Carried a Sadelco field strength meter up ever pole, never use a ladder.Cut in lots of pressure taps, seen systems built out of 11u trunk and rg 59 feeder.Spent 1 or 2 days wiring a 8 channel headend, had people standing outside there houses to get the cable hooked up.From 1 channel to 8 for $6 a month.I am a lucky man to have got in the cable business at an early age at the right time.  Chuck
