On the first day of spring my conmpany gave to me:
Twelve days of cleanup.
Eleven railroad crossings.
Ten major changeouts.
Nine spans of relash,
Eight miles of wreckout,
Seven yapping dogs,
Five widowmakers,
Four outside nineties,
Three stoned linemen,
Two lopsided reels,
and..................................................... A postdated rubber paycheck
