I have actually messed around with the one from Skywalker at Skywalker's booth at this past Cedia convention.  It is pretty cool and has the best price for what your getting.  That would be the one that I would purchase.  Some do record and some don't.  Take a look around ebay.  There is a wide variety.  But definitely go with Skywalker's.
