Consistency is the key. Are you responsible for setting the sweep criteria? If so, try it both ways, then decide which method is better for your system. Are there issues concerning test points or node platform stability? Then follow that method with no exceptions. There's no "cheating" if everyone involved knows what's going on and the procedures are followed.
