Let Comcast and other MSO's do what they want. I tether my laptop to my Blackberry and enjoy 4G speeds PLUS it alows me to have a mobile internet connection as opposed to being stuck with the cable company portal at home or seeking out free Wi-Fi hot spots. I can also use my Netflix account with no problem. I have an OTA antenna at home for local news and weather in HD and I have a small portable USB HD antenna when I am on the road so I have that option as well. I'll never be dependent on a cable company for services again.
After the way the MSO's have treated their contract labor force for the past decade, why would you ever spend your hard earned money for their services?
