That's right, don't even cut the wire, 3 wraps around the thru bolt and Go lasher, then dress the pole.
I worked with a crew in NC and the bucket truck was only there to carry materials, the igloo full of ice cold beer and your tired asses back to the yard at the end of the day, there wasn't any of this lowering the lasher to the ground so the grunt could reload it, you did it in your lap, if you ran out of materials on the pole it was your own dam fault, if you sent an empty lasher down the line, you and the grunt both might be walking home that night and you better have plenty of money to buy the beer at the bar, and you better be pretty thick skinned, because the next morning at the yard, everybody knew about It, That was the Old School Days.
It sure was fun back then, Boot grease in the door handles, Telco Ties on the drive shaft, tieing up your grunt with mule tape because he passed out
