Daniel Russell update
I wanted to express my gratitude to everyone that has extended prayer for Dannie's recovery. Pure benevolence is seldom found in today's society and myself and our boys immensely appreciate your concern. Please keep the prayers coming, fore he is progressing and doing more than his doctors have claimed. Being Dannie's strongest advocate...I take his recovery extremely serious, and will not pause even at the slightest bump in the road. Dannie always said that I was a "mother hen", ruffling my feathers at any indication of disruption to my family's well being. Sleepless nights and relentless hours I have endured for the past 3 months keeping him at his best, and keeping our boys at their best at their academics and arts. Both boys are definitely their father's sons with their musical and stage talents, and their Rolodex memory banks! My aim is to bring Dannie home where he can get the best recovery, as I do know that I am very capable of giving him the rehabilitation that he needs and medical attention that keeps him well. He has been ICU'd twice due to poor medical attention(at nursing facilities). He is too far from home (3hrs presently)...and frankly, I am tired of his setbacks. The brain cannot recover if left without cognitive therapy when it deems ready. All things are possible, as the saying goes, "when you've seen one brain injury...you've seen one brain injury". Please always try to be kind...because everyone is probably dealing with more than they ever expected to. Hug your spouse and loved ones and tell them how much you love them every chance you get! Take it from me...my compassion for my family excels any comfort I allow to give myself....they are each breath that I take, and each beat of my heart. I have imagined during my lifetime what it would be like if something caused me to cry each day through out the day...now, I no longer imagine. God Speed to all of us...Dannie's faith was very strong, as he reminded me many times...the 'wandering Jew' that he was!! We love you, and keep us all strong through your prayers! Dannie's wife, Anita Russell
