This is because of the new requirements to 1099 you. If you are an individual and not a company you can no longer be 1099 under the new tax law. Actually it is a good idea for you. As an LLC your personal assets are protected if something bad happens. Lets say you drill through a gas line and blow up someones house, If you are an LLC they damaged party has the right to go after your business assets and insurance but your personal assets like your home and family car are protected. If you are a person that is working you are liable for everything you own. Look at it 2 way you are an established business and better protected.
