Yeah, I'm also aware that a warped reflector could cause those problems, but AFTER it was already installed and functioning properly? The dish is located on a rooftop, so it was protected from vandalism and human interference. I should have mentioned that this is a favor I'm doing for a friend of a friend-off the books, so swapping receivers (as they only have one) and possibly even changing the reflector (as we know the holes don't always align) may not be possible. That's why I was asking whether or not a faulty receiver could do something like that. I don't want to waste a hold day troubleshooting a problem I can't fix and that they would need Directv to send a tech out. Somebody mentioned a mouse chewing through the lines, but that wouldn't cause a discriminate signal interference like that, would it?
