If you look on you tube you will see where we hook 90 foot poles,One time my foot slipped just above the 70 foot mark and caused me to lose a race by only 2 seconds but their actually big trees but since its only the pole left i refered to them as a pole on this site instead of a tree, also there much much softer than a green tele pole, it would be very hard to race a green pole. And Goodsky I meant no disrepect to you im sure your one bad ass linemen whos worked his way up as a little kid grunt pulling super trunk (ouch !!) sliding accross bell in treed out easments for miles on end.And no disrespect to all the other bad ass linemen out there. What we do is dangerous and not for the weak or timid. Its a brutal job hooking all day in easments or hitting every other pole racing a T-40 or in the 30 below weather in upstate ny to 110 degrees in the everglades but its cable !!. Once again I know linemen are bad asses and have scrapped with a few in my day and was usually on the losing end of the stick. But to me that russian was bugsy !!
