There is a long trem method I have seen used in the far northern states was to use self regulating resistive heat tape, they would attach it with 3" aluminum foil tape on the back side of the dish, you just plug it in to 110v and any where along the tape it would maintain 40deg F, so the whole length of the heat tape was not heating, just the areas that were below 40 degrees, I am sure it is not that cheap Now, but back then it was about $1.00 per foot and it came in 500ft bulk rolls,
and you could get kits that had couplers so you could extend it , tee fittings so you can branch it, and term fittings

The cable is buried in the ground at many outdoor sports arena's, placed in sidewalks at shopping malls for de-icing
lasts about 20 years direct buried.
