Thanks for the input. Yes, the Apollo is made by GMP. I've used the GMP C and J for over three decades. The Cable Spinner Lineman Lasher for 2 decades. Just never used the GMP Apollo, yet.
I've got a fiber overlash job coming up in Kansas City and wanted the 'straight pull' capabilities of the Cable Spinner, which the Apollo has also. I'm not going to deal with the strand drive rollers of the C and J. The Cable Spinner works better in my application. But the Cable Spinner has a poorly designed and fragile rear gate. I've never used the Apollo. The Apollo is gear drive rather than belt drive. I was wondering if the gates and other aspects of the Apollo were equal to, worse than, or superior to the Cable Spinner.
Please, no more input on the C or J. I know how to use them and rebuild them from the frame up. I've also done complete teardowns and rebuilds of the Cable Spinner. This is a GMP Apollo versus the Cable Spinner Lineman Lasher question.
