I am unaware of anything that has stopped this crap! With the assumption that all people come to work with the expectation that their labor will be converted into profit in which they can share....(yes there are exceptions)....this trust is converted by greed into theft!
The actual process is....WORK FOR US...WE WILL PAY YOU....TRUST US...THE CHECK IS LATE.....WELL, YES,THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THAT INSTALLATION....I'LL GET ON WITH CORPORATE RIGHT NOW!....LOOK! WE TALKED ABOUT THIS....DO NOT SHARE YOUR PERSONAL PROBLEMS WITH ME......YOU WILL BE PAID WHEN I AM PAID......IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO MAKE A CALL PLEASE . . .
In my opinion, in cases where the worker has trusted management to correct paperwork this has not happened; sorry, best spin I can put on this one!
For my next year I resolve, like Hemingway, to write drunk and edit sober................unlike the motherfuckers in satellite installation who just steal.... drunk or sober!
