Couldn't have said it better with that.  I switched from Dish to DTV a while back and thought I was taking a pay cut.  It was per piece, but the volume from DTV caused me to make more.  The chargebacks are ridiculous but I still earn more with that than I ever did with Dish.  But that may be a regional issue.  If you're in a market that only carries locals with one provider, then go with that one.
