It's illegal for any w2 employee to be back charged for failed QC's or damages. It is also illegal not to pay you overtime if you work more than 40 hrs a week.

An employer must pay you for hours/work performed up to the point of termination and the only deductions allowed are the standard income tax, UI, SS, Med, and any loans you took or agreements you made to pay for tools, or buy into health plan or funds. These other deductions must be agreed to in writing prior to said deductions are taken.

If you are being paid as a 1099 contractor then suck it up if you want to keep working.
