The funniest fiber security I have ever seen was while working in southern Oklahoma the lineman took 2 t-40's and hoisted a 2200ft reel of 256 count up to strand level and hung the reel for the weekend with strand & preforms, well that weekend there was a big storm rolled thru and that big spool took out 9 power poles and caused a power, telco & cable outage for around 12,000 customers, the crew showed up monday morning to the location to find the fiber reel cut and setting on the side of the road with several other telco & power line crews, thanking them for all the emergency weekend overtime work
Kodak moment.. to cheap to pay a person $300.00 a weekend to watch the reel or $80.000 plus hit on your insurance and loss of contract
