There's a huge difference between span and scrapple.....span is made from "ham"....scrapple from fresh pork, including pig body parts that you normally will not eat by themselves.....added to that is different flours and grains, depending on your taste....I've helped cook it often....having been raised on a farm...cooked it in a 30 gallon black iron pot over a fire....had 5 guys take turns stirring the pot so it wouldn't stick...after 4 hours poured it in bread sized pans to let cool and let the fat harden a bit....when hot and still in liquid form, the best tasting slop that you ever ate or sliced thin and fried crispy on the outside...absolutely awesome!!...DO NOT EAT IF YOU HAVE HIGH COLESTEROL!!!
