I know it's kind of late, but something like this should work fine too, if that other tool costs too much. I would just alter it a little (chain on it, or cut it down) to work on the shorter height of the ped stakes myself. Need more leverage? Just put a piece of pipe over the handle to lengthen it. Anyone handy could easily and quickly fabricate something similar. From the picture, this one appears to be about 6/1 leverage, so 100 lbs. of down pressure would equal 600 lbs. lifting/pulling pressure.
$30 at harbor freight tools also should be at most farm supply stores.
