What I was told is that you order cable service and that you have to order every channel. At that time when they turn it off for non-pay this person can turn it back on. I was told that this person cannot add channels to the cable box that were not on there previously. Like most of you said that it will work as long as you have some kind of cable signal at your home. Weird stuff.. i thought those boxes were not hackable...
