It depends on the damages. Some damages fall under Care, Custody, and Control. These are damages such as You were installing the cable and knocked over a vase. It would be covered. But with just GL then you are only insured for what you are there working on i.e. drill a hole and hit a wire inside the wall.
I don't know about your situation but It states that the employee is responsible for damage to mine or customers property.
But I pay the Workers Comp and GL. If I were you and if you are 1099 sub contractor then I would buy my own insurance.
Seems like an odd setup, Im not sure how he could get insurance on you as a 1099 empl. The WC here looks at my Quarterly unemployment returns in thier annual audit.
