Had that happen to a friend of mine kind of, well he was coming out of the woods after hunting, (the sun had gone down) and he was attacked by a buck, it knocked him down and he dropped his rifle but he still had a 45, he pulled it and emptyed the clip into the buck before it ran off, why? well come to find out he had a bottle of buck lure in his pouch and the lid had opened and was dripping a trail as he worked his way out and the buck picked up on it, of course it was rut season so the ole buck was just doing his thing, they found the deer the next day 100 yrds a way from the spot where his rifle was still laying, 4 of the 7 shots hit home, oh and Sonny got 2 broke ribs 9 stitches above his ear and a whole lot of kidding from the local hunters.
