There was a time when it was ok. As a contractor you had to assert your capability to cover only specific areas and refuse every request to go further. If you were good with the custom work and could sell it quickly there was good money in that. Therefore you had to limit the amount of time you were available for new installations.
In my opinion, as the money declined the honest fulfillment companies walked away. Crooks remained.
Since Directv and DISH have gone away from the fulfillment model you are left with HSPs and their subcontractors. Now there is a waste of time.
