The editor is more or less a "black box" that I purchased and plugged in, back when the design of this format started years ago before Chrome existed. I acquired the latest Chrome-compatible version of the editor and plugged in it but it broke what was at least semi-functional before. The good news is, it seems to work great on the standalone editor page. Click on the Message # link at the bottom-right of the message to get to the individual message page, then "Post Reply" from the Options menu. I'm using Chrome to post this and it does seem to function correctly but the extra steps are . I'm trying to find out what the problem is within the current format and will fix if possible. I can't make any major changes to accommodate it at this point, but hopefully it won't require that. In the meantime there is the standalone page workaround. It does still work for posting plain text without the workaround.
