here TWC started doing installs in house -- but if a phone install requires a wall fish, they call a contractor. Can you imagine being the customer when a TWC truck pulls up, looks around, and says that he can't do it, but hold on i'll call someone who knows what they're doing?!??
They've also seriously bumped up install charges. A work order today adding wireless internet (no wired internet previously) had the following charges:
$25 new A/O
$50 HSD Deposite
$25 truck roll
$40 Wireless setup
Those are all one time charges that wouldn't include any service....Since TWC bills in advance, that would mean (assuming a "promotion" of some kind) $40 for the first month internet service, $4 for the wireless for the first month...
So figure they paid $180 for their first month of wifi internet access....
As for me, being a install contractor, I hope lots and lots of people try uverse, hate it, and turn back over to cable...but I'll be switching to uverse the second it's available at my house...Quite frankly, if it isn't available soon i'll be getting dish or direct, TWC has gotten crazy.
