Is the ACUTRAC III PLUS satellite meter any good f

Maybe you guys can help me out...I have a broken birdog sat meter but it is getting repaired right now...I have a buddy that has an ACUTRAC III PLUS meter. Does anybody have one of these meters for Directv? or has anybody heard anything about these? I want to know if I should take it off of his hands for the time..I checked online and in comparison I'm getting it for a great price..Is this meter worth it????Help
