FTTH can use a separate fiber in the trunk that goes from CO (Head End)to customer. If this is what you are talking about, its not that revolutionary. I wouldn't consider this a "Drop" though. As for no signal degradation and wide bandwidth all transmission media has loss. This fiber does have a high bandwidth though.
