Directv Mess..

i have the oppertunity to do service work on this bar but it's a mess...8 sd rec. on a 18" dish..3 hd rec on kaku 4 output lnb  2-24 and 1-21 rec the 18" is old and needs to be gone...should i put swm in with 16 way switch or should i put up a 40" dish for sd rec.  i couldn't see if the 8 way is powered...the 18" dish is have rain fade issues it's peaked in ... owe of corse the guys as cheap as they come...thanks
