I had a similar problem back in the early 90's. I subbed from a sub (sub name: Walt Williams)of a prime (primes name: Consumer cable, out of Dothan Alabama)and the sub that I worked for blew town with my money to the tune of $13,000. I retained a lawyer and he went after the prime (Consumer Cable), after about 2 years and 3-$4,000 in attorney fees, I finally received my money. I believe that my attorney put a lien on the prime, and on Cox Cable (the MSO we were retro-fitting) which effectively shut down the job until the matter was resolved, so Cox probably pressured Consumer to resolve the situation. After they paid up, Consumer's contract was voided by Cox.
