I love working for arrogant ass holes like you hook.  I run arrogant ass holes off right after I kick their ass, or pour sugar in their gas tank.   Having said that, let me say this. If you let  someone you are training go up a ladder with out a hard hat or boots you are a dumb ass plain and simple. If you post the stupid shit on the bar so all can see you are a fuck up worse than toast could ever be. also if you think ladders are for just midspans, you are full of shit or one lazy bastard that never leaves the office and dreams about day's gone bye. You want to know what is wrong with the industry today?  It pays shit. It is a shit job. You are better off letting toast fluff you up. cable tv is a shit job. It is ran by shit. It is controlled by shit. with fucked up linemen with shit for brains. Why do you think there is a mexican up a pole with no hard hat and no boots?????      It is a worthless shit job.  damn get a clue.
