You're not giving the people who want to build the mosque credit. They knew they did not have the funding, but by trying to build it within close proximity of ground zero has brought sooooo much media attention that the current trip to the homeland to raise funds will see all sorts of extremist supporters kicking up big $$$ just so they can shove it in our faces. They knew exactly what they were doing and I give them credit for their ingenuity, but still what I have to say about the miscreants would get this post deleted even in this forum.
