Did you take the second blanket and use it as a "dust cover" over the pillows, and put the dollar bill wide fold across the blanket and sheet?
Did that to my first wife and she never asked me to make the bed again. Tried it with my second wife and she loved it (she was a brat herself) so I kind of shot myself in the foot on that one.
My current wife is Japanese and it's like living with a chamber maid, bed is always made, breakfast is on the table at 05:30, lunch is packed and ready for when I leave for work, dinner always ready at 18:00, house is always spotless. I never get a chance to to make a bed and I don't mind a bit.
