I do not think going over there on the anniversary is a silent apology; it's reconcilliation. That war was a long time ago and if you cant forgive and go foward you will be destined to stay in place and not move forward. We visit england on thier anniversaies so why not. It could be seen as respect to other soldiers that fought for what they thought was right. There is respect anong soldiers.
