well first off you need proof that you tried to get paid in a civil matter, like write to them asking for payment, to both of them, and request many times for payment, after about a month you can tell them you will take both of them and all the customers you installed to court if not payed. and when that fails you then take them to court, the fee is useally small to file, but make sure you have all the paper work, ie. check stubs, pay sheets, work orders, etc... cause you have to prove thay didnt pay you. and as for equipment yes you must return it regardless if thay owe you money. also just cause he quit doesnt mean you can do wage garnishment. if he ever hold a job or file any taxes ever agian in his life hit will be garnished
