I wasn't a cable guy yet and would rather have been a firefighter as I did since I was a kid. I always wanted to help people when in danger or in need. It was one of the nasty tastes I got of the real world and it hasn't gone out. It is why I think affirmative action and preferential treatment for anyone is infuriating to me. In positions of public safety, the most qualified person should be hired. You have a guy that comes in to save and ends getting you both killed because he was hired for the wrong reasons, didn't have the right stuff and that doesn't help anyone. Actually you are right I was a cable guy for a short time. I was in house. I remember one of the things was that I already knew a fair amount about structures and how to handle a ladder. And wiring and things like that.
