I used to be a D* contractor and I am very familiar with the NRS's I personally think its a bunch of BS, they were always on us about hooking up phone lines etc, well to make a long drama story short, I am no longer with the contract company, I am now a dealer for DTV and have been for about 8 months now, I average only about 15 sales/installs a month and a a good majority of those do NOT have home phone service as most americans are going strictly cell phones, seriously in the past 8 months I have hooked up a TOTAL of 5 receivers (maybe) to phone lines, DTV themselves (who pay me) have NEVER charged me back, or anything, its an inhouse thing, they want em hooked up and I am 99% sure that the contract company gets SOME kind of bonus for doing so, but do they share that with you? haha NO, if its like the local company was, they will actually charge all the techs back if they didnt make their quota or not, you cant force a customer to have home phone service, and I surely aint running cat5 from their router to each receiver for free! My opinion it must be multiband trying to get there bonuses, but thats just my opinion
