A good reason not to set the fwd tel freq so high in the band is so you can actually look at the sweep on the input test point for troubleshooting purposes. Almost all active inputs are inverted slope which puts the high end down in the teens on level, but when you are sampling it from a 20dB down TP you are actually hitting the meter with negative level despite what your probe compensated meter says. If your telemetry is too low you obviously won't be able to sweep the input TP. Helps with being able to sweep inputs to verify bad input span, or crappy reflective output TP's.
