You are being treated just like every other trade out there and I say it's about time. CATV has been looked down upon forever because installers could do whatever they felt like. (Just think of all the outlets that were drilled through window frames) There is no reason that CATV/phone guys/home theater guys shouldn't know and follow N.E.C. rules. I assume that would be the case here?
Maybe this is a pain in your ass right now but in the end it's a feather in your cap to be licenced. Or at least it should be.$$ The installer has risen to the ranks of the rest of the building industry. Ain't that sumpthin. Just 2 cents from a former CATV installer.
