WTF!!!!
All you do is short the 8 outlets you want then use your VOM to find the other end in the comm room or basement or where ever they're pulled to. I use to carry a bunch of 6 to 8 inch cables with a F connector on one side and the braid wrapped around the center conductor on the other. You could also use a port cap terminator but sometimes the 75 ohm resistor is bad and gives you the wrong reading. Anyway you put it on the wall-plate of the outlets your looking for. 48 + lines and you should be able to check at least 3 to 5 lines in a min. Should take you 20 min to check them all, you separate the lines that ohm out and your set. If you wind up with more lines than what you need you just go back and un-short (open) the ones you want at the outlet and recheck the lines that you separated and keep any one that are open this time.
From the picture looks like some of the lines were marked, did that throw you off? How much time did you wast taking pictures? Stop crying and do your job. If your looking for sympathy you should look between shit and syphilises in the dictionary because you won't find it here.
The tech, and I use this word loosely here that came to help should have known the above. WTF did you guy's do walk hand in hand to each of the 48 + outlets, instead of having 1 guy tone the lines and the other working on cutting jumpers and setting up the equipment??
What was this your 2nd week on the job? If you consider that pre-wired house a install from hell you better get out of the business now cause that is nothing.
We use to have to mark the lines on both ends after we identified them so that if there was a problem later the tech would know what line went where. But then you would not have made it home until 3AM..
Like Hookman says FUCKING INSTALLERS!!!!!!
